This painting was inspired as part of my boat series exploring the movement of water and the journeys that voyagers make on the seas. In this painting, I had a sense to create an atmosphere of tranquility (giving the name) and to do so, remove the separation of the natural lines between the water and sky that we sometimes experience when on the water. This created a seamless expanse you see reflected in this piece.
